Peanut and I made play dough the other day and thought I would share the recipe. It is super easy to make, inexpensive, and the consistency is far better than the crap stuff you can buy in stores. I am already sick of making a plethora of hot dogs and hamburgers for his bbq grills (yeah you read that right, plural, as in two grills), but it keeps him occupied for a good five minutes
Play Dough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon food coloring
Combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a large saucepan. In a separate bowl combine water, oil, and food coloring. Add oil and water mixture to dry ingredients in saucepan. Cook over medium to high heat stirring constantly until a ball forms (or your arm falls off). Remove from heat and cool on wax paper. Knead until smooth and store in an airtight container or ziploc bag.
