Peanut Buddy, you are growing up so fast! I cannot believe how tall you are. I had you try on your pants from this past winter/spring and while your waist size has not changed a lot, your legs certainly have sprouted!

This past month at school you have done well. Your favorite teacher called me one day while you were at school to tell me that while all your classmates were doing centers, you had your head in your hands and were crying. I tried to find out what happened to you over the phone, but it is still a minor mystery. By the time I got to your school, you were okay again. It tears my heart apart to think you can be so sad and not know how to tell me what is going on. Other than that incident, as long as we keep to an exact schedule you seem to do well. Parent/Teacher conferences were held earlier this month and your teacher said you were meeting most of your goals. “Peanut just need to play more and be more creative”, she says ;) . Your teacher will try to work with you on potty training as well. School break for the rest of the month and into next…I think we both are going to be certifiable by the end of break. You are so my child and cannot stand staying at home. We have to be busy, busy, busy!

I am not sure what this is about:

You have this obsession this month with taking ALL of your toys (and I mean every last one you can get a hold of) and dumping them in a pile. You get so involved and cannot be swayed to stop until you are ready to. You rearrange and rearrange and rearrange…Daddy says it must be like what is inside your brain. He would know and understand more than anyone. I am so sorry. I really don’t know what to do….you are bright….and frustrated :) .

You are still into firetrucks, play dough, Spiderman, Bob the Builder, Caillou, and Curious George. Occasionally you will ask us what we would like to eat, take our elaborate order while pretending to write it all down, and then proceed to tell us, “Actually, I am going to make you fish and corn”.

Every night now Daddy and you have a game of who can get into the bedroom the fastest. You shriek with excitement as you both run and slam into walls and bang open doors to get to bed. You pour your own cereal now into a bowl and do not make a mess. I believe you have finally mastered kicking walls and screaming as loud as you can. I am really looking forward to some emotional maturity…from the both of us hahahaha!

I love you Peanut!

I love that you do these, babe! I also wish he’d learn how to make something other than fish and corn!

Pat says:

Oh my, I think that his behavior has something to do with the fact that he’s 3. Now, I might be wrong, but don’t think so.
He’s a wonderful little boy, loved beyond compare by lots of us.
The key factor is that he loves him mommy, it will take time for him to adjust to being away from her for any length of time (like for school) but he will, just be patient (don’t you want to scream at people that tell you that?)
I wish you were closer (or we were) so that Papa and I could help out on occasion, but that will have to wait until you come home next summer.
Give Peanut a hug from Grandma.
