I took Peanut to the ENT specialist this morning. After a myriad of tests, the results show that his hearing is only slightly impaired right now and there is still significant amounts of fluid in both of his ears. The doctor was mutually personable and intelligent, which I find to be a rarity these days. Normally it is one or the other. I digress. Anyways, the doctor said he would like to wait 3 to 4 more weeks to see if his ears clear up on his own. His thought is he would like to avoid putting in tubes given Peanut’s medical history and experiences. I agree completely. Since he is not in any significant pain right now and can hear okay I do think it is wise to wait it out. The doctor said his asthma increases his chance of having tubes put in. We will have to wait and see. As with everything it seems: we are in a holding pattern. I am keeping him out of school (again) for the week as he is still on antibiotics and his stomach is volatile right now. I am hoping we can start back at school next Monday. I hope we are on the road to recovery with this. ::crossing fingers::
