Peanut’s Ears and Endless Energy

Sorry I did not post sooner. I am sick with some sort of head cold and feeling a bit under the weather. My ear is killing me- maybe Peanut got his ear issues from me….Peanut had the ear tubes placed yesterday morning. It was excruciating to hand him over to the anesthesiologist but he did very well overall. He was a bit disoriented when we took him home but quickly perked up and promptly started jumping on the couch. He has only complained of discomfort when we have to put the antibiotic drops in his ears. It has not slowed him down one bit! His energy level could power a third world nation, I swear! I am glad to see him doing so well . He will be on antibiotic drops and an oral antibiotic for a while as a precaution. We will go back to see the ENT doctor in about 10 days to make sure the tubes are int he right spot, etc. He can’t get his ears wet at all. I think he might have to get ear plugs for anytime he goes in water….? I will check with the doc when we see him again.

Slack will be starting his new job Monday! Sr. Software Engineer at that! I am really excited for him as he will be working with former coworkers from AOL and learning valuable information that will bulk up his resume. Yay!

All in all, really good news. I think maybe that is why I am sick. I read that during times of stress, the body kind of protects itself and runs at a high level on stress hormones. Once stress is relieved, the body then lowers the immune system and then WATCH OUT. I swear I started feeling ill on the way home from the hospital once I knew Peanut was okay and Slack had a new job. Hahahaha. I will still take this scenario over the latter of the past couple of months.
